To explain Babeliro, I must start from the beginning. I must start with the MU [W] and its division (KUAK).

The meaning of MU [W] is a bit like art or poetry, not like mathematics. MU is the original thought; we all understand it but at the same time we don’t. If I had to express it mathematically, I would say:

MU = MU + MU = MU – MU = MU * MU = MU / MU = x ≠ x

Mathematically this is nonsensical. However, MU, by definition, is what it is and what it isn’t. If I tell you that the MU is truth, I must tell you that it’s also not truth. Maybe you will understand better if I explain that the MU includes affirmation (SI) and negation (NO), the day and the night, but you cannot think of the MU in mathematics, but in logic:

MU ⊃ { NO ∪ SI }

And then there’s the concept of the KUAK. MU is the union of what is and what isn’t; then KUAK is the interjection of those (i.e. partly yes and partly no). In logic, you could thus evolve from the original thought of MU (neither knowing, nor not knowing) through interjection:

Then MU is:

If KUAK = x ∩ -x,
and MU = x ∪ -x = NO ∪ SI = NO ∪ SI ∪ MU ∪ KUAK

Then,

MU ∩ MU = { NO, SI, MU, KUAK }

In logical terms, this means that we evolve from neither knowing nor not knowing, into recognising truth from false through the interjection of the MU with itself. Now let’s look in practical terms, how these concepts apply daily to our life with an example:

Imagine, I go to a gelato shop in my next Italian vacation, and they have only 4 flavours: Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate and Pistachio.

MU-choice

For me (and for many), vanilla it’s my MU-choice. In English, people refer to things as “vanilla” when they are ordinary, with no special or extra features. That’s very much what MU is about: You could have vanilla, but you could be fine also without.

NO-choice:

Some people are just born wrong and invented the way to waste delicious strawberries. This is obviously a NO-choice.

SI-choice:

Obviously, chocolate was designed to be in ice cream and is the only logical SI-choice of a rational individual.

KUAK-choice:

This is a difficult one. Pistachio is sometimes great, but sometimes it tastes artificial… This is therefore a KUAK-choice, and it may depend on my “risk appetite” at the time.

These are my MU-, NO-, SI- and KUAK-choices on ice creams. The basic concepts of any logic. “Yes and no” are not sufficient, so MU and KUAK are hiddenly present in our logic.

In terms of pronunciation, Babeliro is in a way two languages: There’s a language formed through logic, and then there’s a language formed by one (or several) synonyms for a root or for a specific meaning. This works as a placeholder tool, because sometimes it’s easier to know a word through logic, and sometimes it’s easier to know a word through memory. The first language is BABELIRO proper, the second is BABELARO, but essentially, they both form Babeliro as a language.

For example, MU is BABELARO. W is BABELIRO. MU is pronounced simply as “moo” like in “moon” and W as “hmmm” (more on pronunciation here). W is one of Babeliro’s “8 non-word expressions” that are the basis for the language. All this “8 non-word expressions” are pronounced without opening the mount much and are somewhat universal.

Firstly, there are 4 logical expressions:

MU [W] = hmmm = indifference

KUAK [Q] = click = divided

NO [Z] = loud t = negative

SI [V] = mhhhm = affirmative

Thus, W, Q, Z and V are muted sounds, while MU, KUAK, NO and SI are regular words where vowels are pronounced (as explain in MENTOS). Then in Babeliro there are only “yes-no questions”, but there are also “MUSINOKUAK questions”.

The MU and the KUAK are the beginning for understanding the truth. I hope my explanation helps.
